HRD Minister, CBSE Chairman should resign immediately: SRS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) on Saturday extended full support to protesting CBSE students over question papers leak of Class X Maths and Class XII Economics. Addressing media persons here on Saturday, Shri Ram Sena, State President, Rajiv Mahajan said the incident has raised question mark on the credibility of the CBSE. "We condemn the way the question papers of the CBSE-conducted annual examinations were leaked. Such discrepancies proved that the Board has played prank with the future of students. We demand adequate safety measures so that such incidents should not happen in future," said Mahajan. He criticized the CBSE Chairman over the incident and demanded immediate action against the culprits over the paper leak scam besides resignation of Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and CBSE Chairman Anita Karwal over question paper leak. Mahajan asked the students not to appear for re-exams as they are not at fault but the concerned Minister and CBSE Chairman whose callousness has played with the future of 28 lakh students across country. He asked the Board to give hundred per cent marks in both the leak papers. Mahajan demanded CBI inquiry into the scam to punish the guilty and also to restore faith in the CBSE. Students across the country are terribly upset with the news that the CBSE has ordered the re-examination of the Class XII economics and Class X maths papers. Mahajan decried the inability of the board to ensure that meritorious students received their just rewards. He alleged nexus between private institution and Board who in order to bring good name to their respective institution has put the future and self confidence of lakh of students at stake for their vested interests by leaking the question papers. "It is depressing for a child who has slogged through the year to walk into the examination hall and find students who have not studied claiming they will get 90%. It is so sad that children who haven't studied will gain from this, not those who worked diligently throughout." How has the education system degraded to such a level?" asks Mahajan. Bal Krishan Arora, Kulbir Singh Slathia, Ramesh Thakur, J.J Singh and Sushil Verma were also present in the press conference. |
