Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Mar 31: The jugglery of administration has allegedly reached to lowest ebb in the department of industries and commerce where the PSUs are running on adhoc wheels.
The GAD in such cases has been bypassed or has not bothered to intervene into the transfers and promotions of officials in industries and commerce department.
Sources alleged that it has been seen from the last couple of years that the industries and commerce department has solely attained the powers of general administration department by elevating the blue eyed general managers to the post of managing directors.
Sources told early times that junior officers who were promoted out of way to the post of general managers in the PSUs are now eying on the post of managing director.
"The story is about a managing director of one of the corporations who is retiring on superannuation in a month and the wealthy and blue eyed general managers who wish to become Managing Directors have started unhealthy competition to achieve the top post of the said corporation," sources maintained.
Sources said that mostly these general managers belong to one PSU under the administrative control of industries and commerce department. "It remains to be seen that who succeeds among these GMs to become Managing Director of the said PSU," sources maintained.
Sources said that the genuine and the merit holder's general managers are depressed by witnessing unhealthy completion.
Sources said that these general managers are believed to meet the chief secretary and chief minister to stall the selection of MD through unhealthy competition.
"We request the authorities soon to adopt a justified and legal policy for the appointment of managing director of the corporation so that the process stands the test of scrutiny," quoted general managers sources said.
Sources alleged that the general managers of one of the PSUs have started lobbing and are seen mostly in civil secretariat to pose themselves as the only choice for becoming managing director of the said corporation.
