| PMUY Gas connections sold on exorbitant rates | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Apr 9: Making the mockery of norms the local gas agency is allegedly said to be selling domestic gas connections to locals under Prime Minister Ujwala Yojna ( PMUY) on very exhorbitant rates, sources said here today. Sources said HP gas agency dealer under name and style Col. Shaheed Mansoor Gas Agency Mendhar has been allegedly charging exhorbitant rates for full gas connections under PMUY from locals. The official rate if the full gas connection is around Rs 1600 but the dealer has been charging Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 for full connection under the scheme from the poeple that too without any proper receipt , sources added. While talking to early times one local namely Yasmeen Kousar of Gohlad said that she approached the said gas agency for purchase of full gas connection . The dealer charged me Rs. 2070 for the same and no proper recipt was given to me Yasmeen added.
Nearly 700 people have been benefitted under PMUY in the Mendhar area but the mockery of the local gas dealer has been going unnoticed by the authorities , said some prominent locals added that in several cases the subsidy on LPG has not been deposited into the bank accounts of the customers by the said dealer they further added.
While talking to Early Times Tehsil Supply Officer Abdul Kahlij said that the rate fixed by the government is around Rs 1600 of the full gas connection viza-ziz stove , pipe regulator and cylinder including the cost of LPG . But due to greed if earning more the said dealer has been indulging in wrong practice and looting the gullible people with both hands.
They appeal to DDC Aijaz Ahmed urged to initiate an inquiry against the dealer for selling full gas connection on exhorbitant rates to people under PMUY. |
