Jammu, Apr 9: The J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB), entrusted with the task of making recruitment for non-gazetted posts in a transparent manner, adopted backdoor channel to appoint employees for itself. A total of 10 employees were engaged by former Secretaries of the Board without following any codal formalities including advertisement of posts, conducting of test, interview etc. These appointees have now been promoted to the next higher posts. This has been revealed by the JKSSB authorities in response to an RTI application filed by one Abdul Wahid. The JKSSB authorities (vide order number SSB/Adm/RTI-176/2011/956-58) have said in their response to the RTI application: "Advertisement notice not issued by SSB, no such application forms received by SSB, no such interview notification has been issued by the Board, No final selection list has been prepared, however appointment orders of individual orderlies has been issued. All the appointment orders (except Raj Kumar are enclosed)." The appointment orders enclosed are of orderlies including Mohinder Kumar, son of Sham Lal, of Dhamoondah Doda, appointed in 1996; Subash Chander, son of Ram Chand, of Basiara, Akhnoor, appointed in 1997; Bivish Kumar, son of Prem Nath, resident of Ragote, Ramnagar, Udhampur appointed in 1997; Sansar Singh, son of Chelo Ram, of Ramnagar, Udhampur, appointed in 1997; Mohammad Ayub Khan, son of Mohammad Amin Khan, of Baran Pather Batmaloo; Farooq Ahmed Shah, son Gulam Ahmed Shah, of Urricharsoo, Pulwama appointed in 1997; Mool Raj, son of Ram Lal, of Karli Khalhi, Udhampur, appointed in 1997; Ashiq Hussain Sheikh, son of Mohammad Akbar Sheikh, of Hanjipora, Budgam; and Mohammad Iqbal, son of Mohammad Abdullah, of Shivpora, Srinagar, appointed in 1998. Sources in the Board informed that some of these employees have already been promoted to some important posts, while the rest who have been working on Class-IV posts for the last over 20 years have not been regularized yet. The Board (vide order number SSB/632-08, dated 12/6/08) had written to Commissioner/Secretary to Government General Administration Department, informing that it had decided to constitute a three-member committee comprising Chairman, Secretary and Senior Law Officer for regularization of Class-IV employees and their selection. "But the file was deliberately kept under carpet by some employees due to which daily wagers have been working still on temporary basis without any certain future", an aggrieved daily wager said. |
