| PHE leaves Udhampur villages high & dry | | `Restore water supply or face direct action' | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: The residents of villages Neli Nallha and Reasa Mangol in Udhampur district today held a protest demonstration against acute shortage of water.
Chanting slogans against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, the villagers said the areas were without water for the past six months.
The villagers said that shortage of water was causing inconvenience to the students of Middle School Dhanni.
According to protesters, the villagers have been forced to consume contaminated water which may cause an epidemic in the areas.
The villagers threatened direct action against the department if water supply was not restored immediately. |
