Udhampur, Apr 11: A government officer is using foul and vulgar language while campaigning for promotion of toilets in rural areas of Udhampur. A video captured by an unknown person shows the Block Development Officer (BDO) Majalta, who is also incharge BDO Ramnagar, addressing a group of women and school girls. While addressing the female folk, the BDO Pritam Sharma mentions certain words particularly about private parts of the women. The girls in school uniform are seen hiding their faces on listening these words uttered by the BDO. Though the video has gone viral on Facebook and other social networking sites, with people condemning the BDO, no action has been taken yet against him. Locals of Majalta and other hamlets informed that a team led by the BDO in question is going from door to door campaigning for making the public aware about the importance of toilets at home. These hamlets include Satrari, Peouni, Pleather, Neeli, Jansal, Katheel, etc. "The team too is using all non-professional techniques and foul language like mentioning undergarments of ladies," the people said. An elderly lady of the area said the BDO and his team has no etiquettes and they are shameless fellow as they don't know how to talk to ladies in villages. She said in her hamlet whenever a male member enters home, he first coughs so that the women inside may know that some male member is coming. "But the BDO and his colleagues have crossed all limits of decency by talking about women's privates parts," she said. The locals urged the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ravinder Kumar to take strict action against the BDO and his team members. |
