Delegations call on interlocutor Sharma, seek peace initiatives

jammu, Apr 26: Various public deputations who today called on the interlocutor cum Centre's special representative for Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma,during his maiden visit to Kishtwar laid stress for strengthening of meaningful dialogue and peace initiatives so that the uncertainty through which the state of Jammu and Kashmir is currently going on could be ended.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Sharma arrived Kishtwar on his median visit and met several delegations which comprised senior citizens, youths and students from the area, however no one separatist camp comes forward to meet him at Dak Banglow Kishtwar.
Speaking to "Early Times" Political and Social activist Ajaiz Hussain Naik said that during his meeting with the interlocutors he and others demand that unemployment problem should be addressed by early start of power projects which are in pipe line in Kishtwar district, engagement of local youths both skilled and unskilled in these power projects should be the priority, construction of Singpora-Viloo tunnel.
He also raise the issue of non providing of security to the political and social activist working on grounds and showed his concern that only those political activist affiliated with ruling parties are being provided with the security. He said that being as part of the state, the situation in Kashmir valley made direct impact on this area as well and calls for dialogue with all stake holders, beside also calls for judicious use of funds given by the center.
"There was no proper utilization of funds given by the center-MGNREGA is one such example where the money meant for poor job card holders did not reach to the deserving people" he said and demanded high level inquiry into the utilizations of funds given by the center.
He says that NHPCs is eying for major power projects in the Chenab belt, but did nothing for the overall development and welfare of the District Kishtwar and demanded that NHPC or any other company should construct Medical College standard hospital, opening of ITI, Air ambulance beside also called for exploring of Padder Sapphire Mines so that the said revenue could be used for developmental activities in the state.
Some of the delegation members said Dineshwar assured them that the Centre was concerned about all districts of Jammu region, whether it is the capital city, urban, rural or far off district and each and every district will get equal treatment for development and other opportunities.
Talking to media persons, PDP District President Advocate Sheikh Nasir, said that "we discussed that the government should talk with all the stakeholders of Jammu and Kashmir state to solve the issue of Kashmir issue as the Peoples Democratic Party has taken up the self rule so that the issue of Kashmir will get resolve. The deputations said that Kashmir issue will be resolved by dialogues. They insisted that government should also look into the developmental projects which would help us to engage unemployed youth in state.
