Jammu, Apr 26: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has been claiming of offering all services online but has forgotten to upload the lists of Common Service Centres (CSCs) on their official website, which itself deflates its claims of going online. Sources insider informed Early Times that the motor vehicle department has given long advertisement regarding the launching of CSCs after spending lakhs of rupees in last few days. It has been claiming that it would provide various services related to vehicles regarding payment of token fees, duplicate R/C, Transfer of ownership, change of address addition/continuation/termination of hypothecation and fitness certificate. The services would be provided related to drivers regarding apply for new learner's license, Apply for new driving license, slot booking for new driving license, payment of fees, Renewal/duplicate/replacement/additional endorsement on driving license and slot booking for new learner's license. Long ques of applicants at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and various other offices where the testimony that the online services so far, have failed to achieve the desired goal. These services are launch to de-congest the traffic at RTO/ARTO offices and to minimise the role of agents but the non-availability of CSCs information on official website, puncture the claim of the department. Most of the commercial vehicles owners and drivers are laggards in technology and even if the services will be made available, they would ultimately relying other people who will charge fee as per their will. The department must have circulated the information regarding fees for various services on their official website. |
