| NSF Signature campaign for CBI enquiry in Rassana case continue | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 2: Understanding the importance and genuineness of CBI enquiry National Secular Forum (NSF) initiated the signature campaign in Rassana murder case. The campaign which was initiated in response to the primary demand of the local people for CBI probe in the matter entered in 8th day and got a healthy response from the university campus.
More than seventy five hundred people from all walks of life reached the venue to pen down their signatures. Addressing the gathering here today, NSF secretary Darpan Singh said, "There is an iota of doubt about the brutality to which the little girl was subjected. Every citizen of Jammu condemns this incident and seeks death penalty to the person who committed this heinous crime. But, the way the Crime Branch probed this case raised suspicion among the people of Jammu."

He added, "If people of Jammu are not satisfied with the probe and seeking CBI probe then what's wrong in it. But, the national media projected the agitation of Jammu people as pro-rapist and anti-Muslim. And that's not acceptable to us. No one can play with the sentiments of Dogras who are warriors and not cowards who commit gang rape on a minor girl. We worship the little girls as "Devi" irrespective of their caste and creed."
Anshu Sharma also said that history stands testimony to the braveness and nationalism of Dogra community. "There can be an odd one out who committed this heinous act of crime but whole community cannot be blamed for the same. Moreover, the way Crime Branch prepared the chargesheet of the case smells fouls as some of the points mentioned are not believable. Hence, there is no harm of CBI probe is ordered to probe the case. And it would only ensure justice to the little girl," he mentioned. Among those who attended the signature campaign included Vikas Kumar, munesh Sharma, D Rana, Sahil Sharma and other. |
