Early Times Report Jammu, May 2: Falsifying the tall claims of the state government of providing better educational infrastructure at the door steps of the far flung areas, around one thousand schools including Primary, upper primary and even middle schools sanctioned for cities and towns of the districts are running without buildings in Jammu Province. Sources in education department informed Early Times that there were 972 schools of 10 districts of Jammu division running from rented buildings. "Out of these schools, 227 in Rajouri , followed by district Kisthwar with 184 schools running from private accumulation, Reassi 114, Ramban 113 , Doda 100, Kathua 93, Poonch 71, Jammu 47 , Samba 14 and district Udhampur 9 schools", said sources. Sources further said that the maximum schools without building are being run from cities and town of said district where construction cost of the building is very high. However, school education department has raised the issue before Union government but the government still not address the issue so far, resulting, the staffs of schools are compelled to organise classes with limited resources. Moreover, under the centrally sponsored scheme of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, the Ministry of HRD had sanctioned to construction of nearly 24022 additional classrooms and 1167 Head Master rooms by end of December, 2018 in across state but the school education department has failed to complete construction work of additional class rooms and headmaster room in time bound. "Out of which 4772 additional classroom and 172 headmaster room yet to be constructed", informed resources. |
