Suffering from a spinal disease, the elderly man has spent approximately two and half months in GMC Jammu. Talking to Early Times, the man's son, Amrik Singh, said that now the doctors have suggested them a surgery which may cost around Rs Eighty thousand. "But we cannot afford the amount. We contacted our area's MLA Shakti Singh Parihar of the BJP, but he gave us just Rs 3000. Now we are collecting money from the people in the ward and elsewhere," Amrik said. He said they have collected Rs. 7000 only so far and requested the hospital administration to help them. When contacted, GMC Principal, Dr Sunanda Raina said that whatever help is available at the department will be provided to the needy person. She said that some things are to be brought from outside and in that case nothing can be done as the patient has to bring them of his expenses while in GMC the poor patient has to pay nothing. |
