2 held for administering poisonous substance to school girl

Jammu, May 2: Two boys have been detained by Kathua police for allegedly poisoning a girl student and case under FIR no 122/2018 u/s 328 RPC has been registered against them. Kathua received information that a 10th class Girl of Rainbow Hr.Sec. School Kathua had been administered some poisonous substance by a student of same class in her food and had been admitted in District Hospital Kathua.
Police recorded the statements of the victim girl in the hospital who disclosed that one of his classmate of village Patyari Nagri was harassing her for over a month by using derogatory remarks and making phone calls On the basis of statements of the victim, the police party apprehended the accused who confessed that he was trying befriend the victim girl for the last over a month but she was refusing his proposal. He further disclosed that he along with one of his classmate hatched a conspiracy to teach a lesson to the victim girl, poisoned her meal.
On taking poisonous lunch, the victim developed some pain and giddiness and got unwell. The school authorities took the girl to DH kathua for treatment where her stomach was washed and the victim is now under treatment. On the Confession of the duo Police recovered and seized the poisonous substance which was administered in the meal of victim girl. Further investigation is the case going on.
