Jammu, May 16: We, The Human, a public trust functioning in J&K, today organized a free of cost dental check up for students of K. C. International School at Akhnoor Road Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by the senior resource person of the trust Kr. Justice Y S Manhas Principal Secretary (Retired) West Bengal in presence of S. Prem Singh, Inder Parihar, Jyoti, Principal of the School Dr. Sarkar and staff of the school. The dental check up was conducted by Dr. Shavali Gupta, Dr. Veronica and dental assistant Bunty Kumar.
While addressing students, Kr. Justice Y S Manhas exhorted children to take message of green environment clean environment to their parents and impress upon them to abandon use of plastic & polythene articles as well as ask the vendors about quality of foods items, they purchase, with regard to use of any toxic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, artificial toxic chemical fruit ripeners for producing/ processing of those food items including fresh fruits and vegetables.
Justice Y S Manhas, also, asked the children to learn very simple process for conversion of household waste into organic manure and grow as many as organic vegetables and flowers in different pots, even, on rooftops of their houses. The students were also distributed Colgate toothpaste and brushes, by the visiting doctors, just to make them aware of proper use of these items as well as proper dental care.
The Principal of the school, also, endorsed viewpoints expressed by Kr. Justice Y S Manhas and appreciated efforts of We The Human in creating vast awareness about mal practices in agricultural farming system, fruit & vegetables ripening as well as processing. He told the students to spread this message for going for natural and organic foods. The principal of the school asked for more such dental checkups on random basis. |
