Terrorists Fire Upon Army Patrol | | | Early Times Report Pulwama, May 16: Even as the Home Ministry announced a ceasefire in Kashmir following an appeal by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, an army patrol was today attacked by terrorists in Pulwama district. Reports said that the militants fired upon a patrolling party of the army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles in Shikargah forest area of Tral before escaping from there. However, there was no immediate report of any casualties. Soon after the firing incident, the area was cordoned off by the forces. "A search operation is on to nab the attackers," said an official. "Some exchange of fire between SFs and militants in the forests of Tral. Search begins. Information is preliminary in nature," police said on Twitter. |
