Doda, May31: Government HSS Chiralla celebrated " No Tobacco Day" by organising a symposium. Acting Principal Shamim Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion and sixteen students hailing from various schools of cluster Chiralla threw light on the ill effects of tobacco. Kritika Devi of Evergreen Public School Chiralla was adjudged first, Veerta Devi from Royal Public School got second prize while as Radhika Devi and Amant Ali respectively of Evergreen Public School Chiralla and JKMH Public School Sewa, Chiralla shared third position. The programme was witnessed by parents of the students and other prominent persons of the area. Speaking on the occasion, Shamim Ahmad congratulated the prize winners and encouraged other students for taking part in the symposium. He advised the students not to become the victims of smoking, drug addiction, drinking and so on as these things lead to deadly diseases. He also insisted upon the parents of the students to refrain from smoking rather give awareness to the smokers about the harmful effects of use of tobacco. |
