Drug peddler held with 20 gram heroin, Rs 60,000 cash | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 31: In continuation of operation 'Sanjeevni', launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Vivek Gupta to curb drug paddling, a drug peddler held with 20 grams heroin, Rs 60,000 cash and a weighing machine at Gandhi Nagar. Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station established naka near Green Belt Gandhi Nagar Jammu for checking/ frisking of vehicles. "When the police party was checking/frisking the vehicles one pedestrian coming towards Gandhi Nagar from Bahu Plaza side on seeing the police party tried to escape in suspicious circumstances but the Incharge Naka assisted by other officials chased and caught hold on him", said spokesman adding that during questioning he disclosed his name as Wazahat Ali of Dudandak Tehsil Surankot District Poonch and on checking 20 Grams of heroin along with cash worth Rs. 60,000 and one electronic weighing machine recovered from the possession of the arrested accused person. On this, a case under FIR No. 124/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started. The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Kali Charan and ASI Shesh Pal of Gandhi Nagar police station under the supervision of Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City South and Sandeep Choudhary, SP City South. |
