Early Times Report Jammu, May 31: Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association Srinagar Divisional committee held a meeting of its members at Jammu to show solidarity with the striking Bank employees, who are on two days' strike on May 30 and 31. Com. Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division which represents LIC employees of Jammu and Kashmir, while speaking on the occasion said that the policies of the NDA Govt. are totally against the working class of the country and specially focused in dismantling the public sector. He lambasted the central Govt. over increasing inflation, hike in petroleum products; increasing unemployment, increased suicides by farmers, increased atrocities on dalits and downtrodden difficulty of people over increased tension at borders, and reducing public funding on education and health. He said that the IBA has given an initial offer of 2% hike over the wage bill as on 31-03-2017 and also placed before UFBU the performance linked variable pay in the industry. The offer of 2% is a cruel joke with the Bank employees who were compelled to go on strike against IBA'S delay in settling the wage revision and casual approach to the wage revision. Over 10 lakh bank employees in government and private banks are on strike. |
