Jammu, May 2: Department of Applied Sciences, Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology organized valedictory function for the students of B.E. 2nd Semester.
The aim of the event was to acknowledge the performance of the winners of different competitions organized by the said department throughout the year. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Er. Vidhi S. Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Trustee whereas Thakur Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal, Vice-Chairman and Er. Renu Bangroo, Managing Director were the Guest of Honours who graced the ceremony with their presence. They were accorded a warm welcome by Dr. Arvind Devangan.
The first event for the felicitation ceremony was Poster presentation in which Shambhavi Sharma of B.E. 2nd Semester Electrical Branch bagged first prize and Ms. Irtiqa Dhar of 6th semester CSE won 2nd prize. The Second event was Essay competition which was organized on the eve of International Mother Language Day in which Shambhavi Sharma again bagged the first prize and the second prize was bagged by Shivali Gandotra, student of 2nd semester Electrical Branch. The third event was General Aptitude Test in which Haris Rashid, a student of B.E. 2nd semester of Electrical Branch won a cash prize of Rs. 1000/- which was given from the side of Rakesh Verma, Head of the Department of Applied Sciences to acknowledge the student. The Achiever of the Year Award was conferred to Ehtisham Khan, a student of 2nd semester Mechanical Branch. He was felicitated as the achiever of the year as he has been selected as a delegate for youth congress and has been called for Asia Summit, South Korea 2018. Certificates and mementos of appreciation were conferred upon the students in various categories.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B.K Ambasta, Professor in Chemistry, Department of Applied Sciences.
