Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana along with Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Nihar Ranjan today welcomed and flagged off the first batch of Mindal Mata Yatra from the historic Gori Shankar Mandir Kishtwar in presence of Yatris who were headed by Prof.Daljeet Singh Manhas.
A large number of devotees who took part in this year Yatra also left for the holy shrine along with the Chhari Yatra via Gulabgarh-Sansari-Himachal road, an alternative and nearest road connectivity to the hill locked valley of Chamba.
While assuring full cooperation for the successful culmination of Yatra, DC Kishtwar said that Kishtwar has emerged as a prominent pilgrimage centre and every year numerous yatras attract huge number of devotees from different parts of the country.
He advised the pilgrims to keep the area neat and clean and also asked the drivers to drive carefully in the hilly terrain of Padder area.
He said that such pilgrimage provides us an opportunity to have darshan and seek blessings of our Gods and Goddesses.
He requested to the pilgrims to pray for the peace, prosperity, communal harmony, brotherhood, amity and secularism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in general and District Kishtwar in particular which are the hallmark of our glorious composite cultural traditions and be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity.
"May the Yatra mark the end of suffering and usher in new hope, especially for those most in need" Rana expressed.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mindal Mata Mandir is located in the scenic Chamba district of Himanchal Pradesh and every year this yatra attracts thousands of pilgrims from different states of India.
