Nursing Staff protests over pending demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 2: Extending support to agitation started by its counterparts in Kashmir, the Jammu Nursing staff of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu and its associated hospitals, staged a protest by observing an hour-long token strike over long-pending demands, including removal of pay anomalies. Scores of nurses under the banner of Nursing Association assembled at their respective hospitals, Shree Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital, Super Specialty Hospital and GMC Jammu raised slogans against concerned authorities for neglecting them for last many years. Addressing gathering President Nursing Association SMGS hospital Pawanjeet Kour said that they offered today's strike in support to the Nursing Association Kashmir and it was started an hour daily strike over long pending demands. "We are demanding technical grade, creation of posts, filling of higher vacant post, timely meeting of departmental promotion committee, hike in uniform allowance, risk allowance and changing of designation from staff nurse to nursing officer and others, "she added due to poor response of the concerned authorities, the demands were not considered seriously. Kour told that they were trying to hold a meeting with Minister for Health and Medical Education Department, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal for their immediate redressal and after meeting further plan will chalk out. |
