| 2 BSF jawans martyred, 7 civilians injured in Pak shelling in Jammu's Akhnoor | | |

In unprovoked shelling from Pakistan along the International Border in Jammu's Akhnoor sector, two BSF (Border Security Force) jawans were martyred and as many as seven civilians suffered injuries this morning.
The martyrs have been identified as BSF constable Vijay Kumar Pandey and ASI Satya Narayan Yadav.
Three out of the seven injured civilians have been identified as Sulakshana Devi (25), Bansi Lal (40), Vikram Singh and Balwinder Singh (22).
Pakistan rangers violated ceasefire today in the Pargwal area of Akhnoor-- prompting a befitting reply from Indian security forces, who are believed to be still engaged in crossfire.
According to reports, 10 BSF posts are involved in effective or retaliatory firing.
Meanwhile, the forces have sounded alert for people to not venture out in RS Pura and Arnia sectors. In view of heavy mortal shelling, the forces have also evacuated villages in Akhnoor sector's Pargwal.
