Health Deptt wakes up ahead of minister's proposed visit | | | Early Times Report Poonch, June 10: As the health sector in Jammu and Kashmir suffered a lot during the tenure of former health minister who was removed following allegations of brazen corruption in health department, authorities in Poonch health department reportedly have directed subordinate staff in all hospitals and health centers to remove expired medicine, if any, sensing exposure of foul plays under the tenure of new health minister whose might visit Poonch soon. It is pertinent to mention here that due to mismanagement of health department Poonch, a high profile mafia is working in health department and the said mafia always directs patients to approach nearby medical shops to get medicine in lieu of heavy commission in favour of doctors and those poor patients who cannot afford huge money to buy expensive medicines often compromise with the situation. On the other hand, if sources are to be believed, majority of patients who come to hospitals and health centers are usually from far flung areas, who are often sold drugs close to expiry dates. There is a huge shortage of life saving drugs in Poonch health sector even when state and union government provide crores of rupees to health department Poonch under various schemes. Sources said that the latest directions of health authorities to subordinate health employees show that something is fishy in health sector Poonch. |
