USTA stages protest demonstration, demands 7th PC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 16: A large number of teachers under the leadership of Hari Singh, President J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) gathered at Press Club Jammu to celebrate Eid as a Black Day with SSA teachers and also staged strong protest and dharna to support the agitation launched by SSA teachers. While speaking on the occasion USTA President expressed his grave concern and strongly condemned the state authorities for implementing 7th Pay Commission in pick and choose manner in education department. It is very unfortunate that teachers/ masters working in same school doing same tasks, some of them are getting benefits of 7th Pay Commission whereas others are deprived of it. It is totally unacceptable. USTA strongly demands full implementation of 7th pay commission in favour of teachers/ masters working under SSA/ RMSA schemes without further delay. While speaking on the occasion, USTA General Secretary appealed the authorities to delink salary of teachers working under SSA/ RMSA from centrally sponsored schemes and release it under state budget to all teachers. He further appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in the matter and resolve the issue sympathetically otherwise teaching community will be compelled to spearhead the agitation. Others who addressed the dharna includes Zulfkar All Malik, Roop Chand, Raj Kumar, Sunil Thappa, Thudu Ram, Shingara Singh, Rashpal Singh, Netr Chand and Ganesh Dutt Manohar Singh Press Secretary. |
