BMOs of Phallanwalla, Nud turn 'dictators' Salary of NHM employees blocked 7/7/2018 10:42:05 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 7: The Block Medical Officers (BMOs) of Phallanwalla and Nud have blocked salaries of employees working under National Health Mission, despite government releasing pending salary of all NHM employees before Eid. Wishing anonymity, a group of NRHM employees informed Early Times that the BMO Nud has blocked their three months salary, while BMO Phallanwalla has not released two month salary of all NRHM employees working under their jurisdiction. The employees said they have approached the BMOs for release of their pending salary but the latter demanded affidavit in this regard. "Nearly 12,000 employees including doctors and paramedical staff are working under NRHM scheme across J&K. No one has given the affidavit to department regarding release of salary. In other blocks, the employees have submitted their Annual Performance Report and their salary was released by the department before Eid. As per rule the BMO demands APR before release of their salary but astoundingly both the BMO demand affidavit instead of APR", sources said. The employees of both blocks met the then minister regarding release of salary. They said that the then minister listened to their grievance and issued on spot direction to Director Health Services Jammu to release their salary immediately and also directed that if the BMOs didn't release salary, they should be attached in Directorate office. However, the NRHM employees of both blocks are without salaries till date. "One can easily gauged, the condition of these employees who have been without salary. Some of the employees also called Chief Medical Officer concerned about their salary. The officer had assured them that their salary will be released within days, but till date nothing has been done", another NRHM employee said.
