UDHAMPUR, July 7: Heavy traffic jam today affected normal life in Udhampur town and vehicular movement came to a grinding halt. Vehicles of all types ranging from small to heavy were seen on the popular Dhar road in triple queue.
Most of the people believed that movement of Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh with MLA R S Pathania at a public movement in Ram Nagar caused all this as there were restrictions during the VIP movement.
However, when contacted SI Police Post Round Domail informed that due to the observance of anniversary of HM militant Burhan Wani vehicles were not allowed towards Kashmir as a preventive measure.
The local commuters faced a lot of inconvenience and there was a lot of noise due to movement of vehicles and their blowing of horns and the dhar road from round domail to darsoo tunnel was turned all smoky due to exhausts from the vehicles. Some patients also got trapped in the jam and could not reached the hospital for proper medical care in time. |
