One held with fake currency of Rs 4190 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: Rajouri Police today claimed to have arrested a man along with fake currency in Kandi area of Rajouri district. Police identified the arrested as Altaf Hussain, a resident of Muradpur Rajouri. "Today evening, a team of police station Kandi and SOG Rajouri headed by Inspector Manzoor Kohli-SHO Kandi under the supervision of DySP Operation-Sukhdev Singh raised a Naka at Jaglanoo Kandi and was on routine frisking of vehicles when a pedestrian was seen coming from some distance", SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said. He, however, soon after noticing the police naka, started to move back which developed suspicion and cops chased and nabbed him at some distance, SSP Manhas added. During frisking, some cash and other personal belongings were recovered from his possession. During the initial investigation, it was found that a bundle of currency notes of ?500 and ?200 denomination recovered from him are fake and he also confessed to the same during questioning, he further informed. He said, "Police has now arrested the said man and fake currency to the tune of ?41,900 has been recovered from his possession which has been seized". A case under FIR No 87/2018 under section 489 (B) of RPC has been registered against the accused and further questioning is going on to nab other people involved in fake currency marketing in Rajouri. |
