NCB seizes charas | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: In continuation of its drive against the drug traffickers in J&K State, Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Zonal Unit Jammu affected a seizure of charas on having quantity of 2.92 kgs from illegal possession of a lady belonging from Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley. The charas recovered were duly wrapped with brown colour shallow tape and concealed in a carry bag. This lady was intercepted at Bus stand Jammu with the help of lady constables while booking of ticket from Jammu to Jaipur to hand over drugs further destination at Ahemdabad. This is the 2nd seizure of charas during this month and 8th seizure of charas during this year. The arrested lady has been produced in the Court Jammu and further lodged in District jail Amphalla Jammu. It has been revealed by the arrested lady that the origin of the drug is Anantnag, Kashmir Valley and it was destined to Ahemdabad. It has been evident from the recent seizures that charas and other contraband are being trafficked to other parts of the country from Kashmir Valley and all the means of transport are being used such as light vehicle, taxis (Tempo Travels), trains and through trucks. Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Unit Jammu and other enforcement agencies have launched their drives actively against the drug traffickers in the area during the year 2017 and affected a lot of seizures of narcotics drug. |
