JSKOA seeks white paper on funds issued by GoI under 'Khelo India' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: JSK Olympic Association demanded issuance of white paper on the enormous funds made available to the State of Jammu and Kashmir by the Govt of India during the past three years for the promotion and development of spots in the state under 'Khelo India' and other schemes. The Association said that the funds provided by the centre do not match the sports infrastructure and ground in the state and as such demands immediate commencement of creating infrastructure for various sports activities including Tennis, Football, Shunting, Boxing, Wusbu, Athletics, etc so that the state produces sportspersons capable of achieving national 3nd international repute. In order to give new life and fillip to sports in the state the Association demands reconstitution of the Sports Council by including sportspersons and sports administrators as its members end it should be made mandatory to hold the post of Secretary Sports Council by a person of National and International exposure in sports. The Association resents discrimination against Jammu based sports associations which are being deprived of financial assistance/Grant-in-Aid for the conduct of sports activities in their respective areas. |
