Jammu, July 21: Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) J&K Regional Branch today organized a one day training program on "Ethics in Public Administration" at the IIPA Seminar hall here today. A total of 140 participants from 22 departments of J&K government including Civil Administration, J&K Police, Rural Development Department, University of Jammu, Traffic Police, Sheep Husbandry, J&K SIDCO, SK Police Academy Udhampur, PWD, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Stores Procurement, CID, Legal Metrology, Traffic Police, ICDS Jammu, CID, Agriculture Dept, CUJ, RTO, Food & Drugs Controller, JDA, J&K Bank, Health Deptt., participated in the training programme. The key theme areas of deliberations throughout the day long program included 'Towards a Citizen's Centric Governance', 'Ethical Issues for Good Governance', 'Role of Technology for Ethical & Moral Dispensation in Administration', and 'Accountability in Public Administration'. Prof Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu while delivering the inaugural address said that ethics in public Administration is an interface between accountability and responsibility vis a vis personal life. He further added that deep-rooted corruption till date has paid very badly to this country and technological intervention have deliberated been avoided to promote the culture of corruption. Dr. Ashok Bhan, IPS (Retd), Former DGP, J&K Police while speaking on "Towards a Citizen's Centric Governance" said that ethics forms the fundamental basis for citizen centric governance. D.C. Raina, Advocate General, J&K while speaking on "Accountability in Public Administration" said that self accountability become the prerequisite for public accountability. Prof Reva Sharma, Director Trainings J&K IMPA & RD, Amit Sharma, KAS Director CAPD, Prof. Alka Sharma, Director (Seminars), IIPA, Dr. Anil Gupta, Joint Secretary, Er.
