BDA least bothered to develop tourist spots in Bhaderwah: Tourists allege | | | Early Times Report Doda, July 25: Tourists visiting Bhaderwah, Jai, Nalthi and Padri Top maintained that there is tremendous tourism potential in Bhaderwah but alleged that both state government and the Bhaderwah Devel-opment Authority (BDA) are least bothered to develop the tourist spots to attract tourists. On visiting Jai and adjoining places, the tourists said that the authorities have failed to provide even basic facilities like electricity and mobile network to even the nearby locations around Bhaderwah town. They also alleged mismanagement by the BDA in regulating the sale of various food items being served by the vendors there. The tourists also alleged that there is no proper waste management despite the fact that there is considerable rush of tourists these days. Talking to news agency, tourists from Jammu and Udhampur, Karan Singh, Rajeev Langotia and Mohd Akbar said, "There are many places worth visiting in and around Bhaderwah but the tourism department is not serious towards their development and maintenance". It is pertinent to mention here that tourists throng Bhaderwah and other locations across Doda district during summer months to enjoy the natural scenic beauty and the cool weather. There is a considerable increase in the flow of tourists this year. If potential tourist spots are developed and promoted, Bhaderwah could become a famous tourist destination which in turn would also boost the economy, the tourists said. |
