JAMMU, July 25: Seeking immediate registration of FIR against SSP Udhampur Rayees Bhat besides his suspension for hurling threats, using derogatory parlance upon Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and assaulting the women activists inside the office of DC Udhampur, scores of Mahila Panthers led by Manju Singh General Secretary JKNPP staged a massive protest demonstration outside the Governor's House in Jammu today. Addressing the media, Manju Singh drew the attention of Governor towards the misdemeanour of the erring SSP Udhampur Raees Bhat who had blatantly mishandled the party leaders and the female activists in particular during a deputation meet inside the chamber of DC Udhampur recently. She revealed that her party had filed several complaints against the SSP with the higher ups for his active involvement in sheltering the ruffians, goons and unscrupulous elements for corruption, harassing the poor, safeguarding the interests of the selected politicians, promoting bovine smuggling besides booking and tormenting the NPP activists who raised voice against him. "We had gone to submit memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner. While Harsh Dev Singh was conversing with the DC on the concerned issues, the SSP who was already present in the chamber started intervening and disrupting the talk for no reason. When Singh objected to his behaviour, he engaged with him in a verbal duel without any justification and subsequently started shouting using filthy language and pounced upon him with an intention to cause hurt. He not only manhandled the party leaders but ordered his subordinate staff to physically throw the women activists outside the office", Manju said. She said it seemed that under a well hatched conspiracy and pre meditated move, the arrogant officer was in a mood to arm twist and browbeat the Panther leaders to please his political bosses. The frustration of the SSP indicated that he wanted to wreck his vengeance against the party leaders who time and again blew whistles against his misdeeds and wrongdoings. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Madhu Bala, Sunita, Jyoti Chandel, Jyoti Thakur, Neelam, Anu, Neeraj Bala, Seema Verma, Sushma besides others. |
