Adoption of XLN software to enhance efficiency of D&FCO | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 2: In order to streamline regulatory procedures across the State, the Drug & Food Control Organization J&K, held a sensitization workshop here today for adopting XLN Software for online Licensing System. The Software is developed and maintained by NIC Gujarat. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary to Government, H&ME Department. While speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner expressed hope that the statutory authorities performing various duties under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules there under shall work towards removing gaps in the existing regulatory mechanism. He further impressed upon the enforcement staff to utilize the in-built information with respect to impersonation, further use of NSQ drugs declared so across the country and mapping of establishments to restore confidence among end users of medicines. The Controller, Drug and Food Control Organization J&K, Lotika Khajuria also expressed hope that the enforcement staff shall be able to devote more time towards their regulatory duties as the existing licensing procedures consume most of their time. Harish Advani, Sr Technical Director NIC Gujarat who conducted the workshop explained its merit and success across the 17 states. Dr Abdul Kabir Dar, Commissioner Food Safety J&K who was present in the workshop said that the adoption of this module shall go a long way to further enhance the credibility of regulatory institutions. |
