Jodhamal school conducts heritage walk | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 3: Jodhamal Public school organised a heritage walk to Hari Niwas palace-Amar Mahal Palace as an ISA activity under the aegis of British council. The students were accompanied by the HOD Painting Nivedita Sharma under the leadership of Anjali Gupta to the Route to Roots programme. The ISA Activity 2018-19 commenced with a motive of brightening the Dogra culture and making the students aware of the glorious past of Jammu under Raja Amar Singh (19th century). Students are also in touch with students from Kazakistan, Kampala and Uganda and this way they are learning the cultural differences between countries due to the geographical locations, customs and the life style of people in the different countries. The students of Jodhamal witnessed miniature paintings from Pahari style -Kangara School. It also gave a glimpse of various modern paintings by eminent artist like Shobha Singh, M F Hussain, Indira Duggar and G R Santosh brought from all over the world to Jammu. The best part was the sharing of the pics with their international partners and telling them about the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir Anjali Gupta , Shalima Pargal, Sanjay Pandey,Narinder Chib, Pooja Gandotra were the teachers who conducted the Quizzes, Discussions and the talk shows on the "Route to Roots" and culminated the activity in the Heritage Walk. The students and parent feedbacks were taken on the activities from the participating groups and hence the activity was completed from 15th May to 3rd August 2018. |
