Udhampur, Aug 3: Taking cognizance of ET report dated 1-08-2018, the authorities restored water supply village Thlordi.
Thel villagers expressed their gratitude to the newspaper for highlighting their problem which ultimately shook the conscience of authorities concerned. Earlier the villagers were facing lot of problems in getting drinking water, to wash. Their cattle too were suffering due to poor water s pply.
Women used to trek 2-3 kilometers daily on rocky terrain to get water to make their kitchens function smoothly.
Now due to restoration of water supply to the village people are heaving a sigh of relief. It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times in its August 1 edition had exclusively published the news report captioned 'Thlordi is still a waterless village in digital India' after the villagers there complained about their problem. |
