NMC appeals Guv to review decision of 7th PC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 12: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the Governor again to review the decision of the previous government relating to the release of 7th pay commission arrears to pensioners above the age of 80 years, in one go. "Apparently the decision smacks discriminatory essence for the other categories of pensioners," Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here. Hoping that this sensitive issue would attract the attention of Governor N.N. Vohra who is well aware of the condition of pensioners who are solely dependent on this source of income, he added. This discriminatory decision on needs to reviewed by the Governor personally to extend this facility to all the pensioners, so that all pensioners could get sigh of relief from rising prices of all essential commodities. Pleading the cause of state Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri also demanded the enhancement of medical allowance from rupees three hundred to rupees one thousand per month on the pattern of Central Govt. pensioners who are availing this monitory benefits for the last one year. This decision is lingering on far the last decade for redressal. While appreciating the ongoing the process for regularization of daily rated workers initiated by the Governor Administration will continue to benefits these daily rated workers fall under SRO 520. |
