Centre, state govts continue to neglect border residents: Bhardwaj | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 12: Senior Congress leader M K Bhardwaj has said that people residing in border areas such as Arnia have been totally neglected both by the centre and the state governments despite braving unprovoked Pak onslaught. Addressing a well attended meeting of Congress workers, the party sympathizers and prominent citizens of the border town and adjoining areas, he said it is an irony that while people of border areas are preparing in a big way to celebrate Independence Day, the ruling party of the day is busy engineering defections to form a government in the state of course with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the meeting convened in relation to preparation for I-Day celebrations in the border constituency of Bishnah, he wondered that whether the nationalist people of border areas were even in the reckoning of the governments. Praising people for their fervour on the eve of I- Day while overlooking their own difficulties, he said that all promises made by Modi government and the BJP participated dispensation in Jammu have proved to be only ' Jumlas'. Declaring that he would do everything for redressing the difficulties of people of Arnia and other border areas, Bhardwaj demanded opening of Degree college at Arnia, a sub district hospital with all facilities to meet any contingency in the border town besides upgradation and repair of all roads of Arnia and border villages. Ashok Dubey, senior Congress leader, gave a clarion call to people to teach a lesson to the power hungry BJP as common people have no place in their scheme of things. |
