KATHUA, Aug 12: The Excise Department alongwith Police Department at Lakhanpur foiled an attempt of smuggling out bhukki from the state, when they seized a consignment of Poppy Husk (bhukki) from a vehicle bearing Registration No PB05R-9397 carrying fresh fruit as goods. The consignment, which was seized at Toll Post Lakhanpur, weigh approx 190 kgs. The vehicle alongwith fresh fruit boxes and contraband item (Bhukki) has been seized by the Police Station, Lakhanpur for further investigation/action under the NDPS Act.
In this regard, a case FIR u/s 8/15 of NDPS stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur and the investigation was going on. |
