Srinagar, Aug 12: Four people, including a woman died due to asphyxiation after they entered a sewage trench here on Sunday. One person who fell unconscious is critical and is undergoing treatment in a local hospital. Official sources said, a person identified as Mohammad Maqbool Khan was repairing and cleaning a sewage trench at his residence when he fell unconscious due to asphyxiation in Uttersoo, Shangus. His wife, son and two neighbours went to rescue him. However, they also fell unconscious after inhaling some poisonous gas.
All the five persons were immediately rushed to a local hospital, where four of them died. The deceased were identified as Shamima, Umar Gul, Sabzar Ahmad and Zahid Ahmad, they added. |
