Jammu, Aug 26: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu organized its fortnightly literary meet today at Tagore Academy, Rani Talab, Digiana, Jammu. Dr. Nirmal Vinod, well known multilingual poet and writer Presided over the meeting. The meeting was conducted by S. Harjit Singh Uppal. S. Amar Singh Kuka, Ghazal writer welcomed the members of the meetng. A session of essays and poetry recitation was conducted in which Amar Singh Kuka, Piara Singh Dhanjal, Jang S. Verman, Harjit Singh Uppal, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Kulwant Singh (from Kashmir), Resham Kaur and Dr. Nirmal Vinod presented their items and views on the items presented during the meet. Various themes and topics were depicted through these essays and poems of various genres. Satire Essay by Pritam Singh Anjaan on the false faiths and dogmas and mal- practices related to those, in the general folks. In his presidential address Dr. Nirmal Vinod said that Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (J) is conducting its meets to keep its traditions alive. He said that the works created need to discuss with others before the same goes to the stage. That would benefit the writers and poets in their literary pursuits. He said that such meetings give exposer to the literary works of the participants. |
