Congress expresses concern over harassment of KP migrants
9/11/2018 9:59:12 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: Dalip Pandita Congress leader expressed serious concern over the harassment of K.P. Migrant families at Jagti Township Nagrota and infusion of corruption on the name of verification.
In a statement Dalip Pandita said that the Jagti Township was established to provide accommodation to the K.P. Migrants who were forced to leave their home & hearth and became migrants in their own country. But it was unfortunate that corrupt means were adopted from the day first, the allotment of quarters begin.
At that time many genuine K.P. Migrant families were ignored and others who have political backing but were not the real Kashmiri Migrants were provided accommodation.
Now another process has started on the name of identification of families putting in these quarters. It is nothing but only to harass the genuine and poor KP families who earn their livelihood by working in private sector in various parts of Jammu or elsewhere outside Jammu.
Pandita urged upon the Governor Administration that unnecessary harassment to the KP migrant families and the harassment on the name of so called verification should be stopped immediately and there should be no interference of vested interests who are not even the members of the KP Migrants, as they know nothing about the hardships of migrant families.
