| Substandard medicines on sale in Poonch, authorities unmoved | | |

Poonch, Sept 11: Under the nose of the authorities substandard medicines are being sold at most of the medical stores in border district Poonch. According to the sources, doctors and concernef officials of Drug Control Department are allegedly involved in this scam with higher authorities unmoved. Patients have informed early times that, some doctors posted in district hospital Poonch are hand in glove with chemists who forcefully send patients on their personal store to buy medicines. These substandard medicines have pushed poor patients towards early deaths and authorities of Drug Controller department are silent spectator which shows their connections connea-griments with chemists. Sources further informed that even some officials of said department throwing sand in the eyes of higher authorities have payed surprise visits and check medicines of many storekeepers but realty is adverse of it. Locals have appealed to governor Sh. Satya Pal Malik to intervene the matter and solve this issue at earliest. |
