Power employees seek support for struggle on privatization of PDD

JAMMU, Sept 22: The Power Development Department Employees Coordination Committee (PDDECC) today held joint campaign across districts. Representatives of all unions of the PDD participated, shared and deliberated on the concerns of employees arising out of the issue of the privatization of the PDD and formation of Tradeco out of JKPDD as a first step by the government vide SRO 396 dated 11th September 2018. Engineers from Degree and Diploma Associations, Er Sachin Tickoo, Convenor Forum of Engineers, Sanjeev Bali,President PPEU, Ajaz Kazmi, Gen Secretary PPEU, Jasbir Singh, President ITI Emloyees, Gurmeet Singh, President Non-Gazetted Employees Union, Anil Slathia, Linemen Union, Kulbir Singh, Need Based Employees Union, H D Singh J&K Technical Employess Federation, Charnjaeet Sharma, PDDEU, Tarun Gupta from PDD Union participated in the meet.
Participants of the Coordination Committee, discussed threadbare the issue of privatization and the modus operandi adopted by the government. It was felt that government has kept the employees in dark and there has been no discussion among the stake holder employees while operationalising the plan. In order to make the voice of employees reach to the governmen,the Representatives of all employees unions have decided to hold one day mass protest demonstration against the policies of the government towards the PDD. All employees of PDD shall participate in the protest on September 24 at Chief Engineer Office, Canal Road Jammu.
