Rajouri observes bandh over shopkeeper's murder

Rajouri, Sept 22: A complete bandh was observed today in Nowshera town for about two hours on the call of Beopar Mandal, Nowshera to express resentment over murder of a shopkeeperon Friday evening.
Sources said the deceased Vijay Kumar R/o border village Laroka was running a 'karyana shop' at Nowshera town since a long time.
On Friday evening 1-2 persons were sitting at his shop and all were gossiping, said a source and added that during discussion a dispute occurred over an unknown topic and in a fit of rage one of the unidentified persons hit the deceased with iron rod.
People from adjoining shops rushed to the spot and shifted the injured Vijay Kumar to nearby Community Health Centre (CHC) who was later referred to Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Jammu by the doctors after providing initial treatment.
People have also expressed their resentment over the inadequate health facilities available at CHC, Nowshera, including shortage of Medical Officers saying, " Had adequate treatment been provided to the deceased at Nowshera hospital his life could have been saved".
After legal formalities and autopsy Nowshera police lodged a case against the unidentified accused and acting swiftly started investigation.
"Police after collecting details and information about thew persons present on the spot, have rounded one suspects namely Harbans Singh R/o Bhawani who is running a tent house in the vicinity of Nowshera town" said a police officer.
