GDC R.S. Pura organizes extension lecture

R.S Pura, Sept 22: Department of Sanskrit and Punjabi of Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura organized extension lectures under the 'Series of Lectures' under the supervision of Prof. Anju Bala, Convener Cultural/literary Committee and Dr. Rajinder Singh, Convener organizing Committee, guidance of Prof. Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the college.
Prof. Vishav Murti Shastri Ex-Principal, RSS Deemed University Kot Bhalwal, Jammu and Dr. Pritam Singh Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi University of Jammu, Jammu. First session started with lighting of the lamp followed by welcome address by Dr. Vijender Kumar, HOD Sanskrit and presentation of bouquet by Principal of the college to the resource person.
Students of the college recited Saraswati Vandana in Sanskrit, in the honour of goddess of knowledge, Maa Saraswati followed by Swagat Geet.
Prof. Vishav Murti in his lecture highlighted the importance of Sanskrit as it is the oldest language and mother of all other languages. He also underlined the role of Sanskrit in moral upliftment of youth in the society and by adapting Sanskrit language in our day to day life we can achieve the goal of an ideal society. The 2nd session began with welcome address given by Dr. Anuradha, HOD Punjabi.
