People protest against police Department

SAMBA, Sept 24: The family members of the deceased, who died due to drowning in a canal at Samba two months ago, staged protest demonstration against the police department at DC Office Complex Samba here today.
The protest held under the leadership of Bhanu Partap Singh alias Binny, Chairman Youth Federation Samba.
In the morning, the family members of the deceased and local people of the village Glar assembled at DC Office Complex Samba, where they raised slogans against the police department and demanded fair investigation into the case.
The agitated people said that on July 12 last one Amit Kumar, son of Raj Kumar of village Glar Camp Samba along with his friends went to bathing in a canal near village Madhera adding that while his friends returned back to their homes, he did not come back following which his family made frantic efforts to search him but he was not found. Next day, Samba police received information regarding the drowning of one person in the canal.
In this regard police has 174 CRPC initiated and started investigation. After few days Samba police arrested four persons who along with the deceased went to the canal. They demanded strict action against the culprits who were allegedly involved in this case.
Later, they met with SSP Samba Dr Koushal Sharma and demanded fair investigation in the case. SSP listened to their grievances and said that the culprits will not be spared at any cost.
