Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: Finding it difficult to keep PDP's flock together former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is camping at Jammu for the last two days to pacify the annoyed leaders. Already four prominent leaders have quitted the party, alleging leadership with pursing anti-Jammu and pro-separatist agenda. Credible sources said that three prominent leaders of the party, including one of the founder members, had almost quitted the PDP last week due to "anti-Jammu policies and programmes" of the party. The annoyed leaders were, somehow, pacified by other leaders who had persuaded them not to quit the party at this point of time. "The annoyed leaders have already given some ultimatum to the party leadership to shun its parochial and communal agenda and follow policies and programmes of late M Jammu based leaders feel humiliated, suffocated, embarrassed due to pro-separatist communal agenda being pursued by top leadership of party to keep anti- India elements in good humour fti Mohammad Sayeed", sources said and added that majority of Jammu based party leaders were feeling suffocated and embarrassed because top leadership of the party, time and again, had tried to demonize a particular community to address its Kashmir constituency. Credible sources said that decision of the PDP leadership to boycott ULBs elections to 'appease separatist' has further deteriorated situation in the party because a message has gone among people that PDP is following separatist agenda. Credible sources said that after intervention of Mehbooba Mufti, some senior leaders had postponed their decision to quit the party but situation was not good in the PDP especially in Jammu region where party has been hijacked by those who are allegedly hell bent to create communal divide before assembly polls. |
