Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Sept 24: Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural conducted over 137 Swachhta Hi Seva Programmes in collaboration with NABARD across the state in various villages of the districts including Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Baramulla, Leh, Kargil and Kupwara in which the women are also playing a major role and recently such a women intensive Swachhta Hi Seva programme was conducted in Boniyar, Uri. Janak Raj Angural, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank expressed his appreciation towards the staff especially the women power who is conducting the campaign with great zeal and enthusiasm in order to make the GOI mission a great success. He assured that J&K Grameen bank will contribute to its maximum possible extend to spread the awareness regarding sanitation and hygiene and to make the environment clean and green. Romesh Vaid, General Manager J&K Grameen Bank said that environmental cleanliness begins with each individual desire to be clean so emphasized to entire workforce of the bank to actively join the cleanliness mission. He added that our 137 branches and offices have conducted camps in last four days and today 13 branches have conducted the Swachhta Hi Seva Programmes at various locations including Natnussa, Chogal, Aragam, Arindardpora, Panzinara, Drugmulla, Pathla, Peerniya and Uri in Kashmir Region and Mishriwala, Channi Prat, Lam and Nowshera in Jammu Region. Vipan Gupta, HOD, Financial Inclusion and insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank, said that the every branch of J&K Grameen bank is conducting Swachhta Hi Seva Programme in their respective villages from 15th September 2018 to 2nd October 2018 in which they are spreading awareness regarding the importance of clean environment and the various ways by which the surroundings can be kept clean and green. The rural masses are imparted knowledge regarding better sanitation practices like using a toilet, handwashing, health and hygiene awareness etc. The activities including cleaning of streets, drains and back alleys and waste collection drives in households and common or shared spaces are also conducted during the programmes. |
