Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 11: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference today organized a Samoohik Yagnopavit to investiture the sacred thread to aspiring Kashmiri Pandits at a function held in Jammu. The function involves the initiation and symbolically staging all the said Samaskaras and today seven Kashmiri Pandits were offered the sacred thread generally known as "Mekhla" by Pandits. Adv Ravinder Raina, president ASKPC while speaking to the media said this initiation, which marked the taking over of the charge of the student by the Guru, revolved around the establishment of connection between the student and Savitri (through the Gayatri Mantra) performed by the Guru and his teaching of this mantra. He added that his organistaion has been organisisng this function considered to be the most important Samaskara in Kashmiri Pandits since 1991. The Kashmiri Pandits Rohit Labroo, Ujwal Raina, Shubham Razdan, Shivam Bhan, Neeraj Malla, Daksh Dhar, Ankush Malla along with their family members and relatives were very elated and expressed their deep satisfaction over the activities of ASKPC terming it as the beacon light of the community in exile. |
