Early Times Report KATHUA, Oct 11: Under the nose of Election Commission two polling staff officials were found getting their photographs clicked with a politician, who had gone to cast his vote in a polling booth in district Kathua on Wednesday. According to the photograph circulated on social networking sites, two polling staff officials including Returning officer and another polling staff member were seen standing with a politician and a cameraman was seen clicking their photograph. The incident happened on Wednesday at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua, near Ramlila ground where polling booth for Ward number was established. A leader of district Kathua had gone to cast his vote where polling booth staff reportedly asked a cameraman to get their photograph clicked with the politician. The election staff officials have not been enough sensitized by the Election Commission of Jammu and Kashmir due to which, instead of restricting others from clicking photographs inside polling booth, they themselves, wanted photographs inside polling booths. "Action must be taken against these polling staff members, who have violated the model code of conduct and raised question over the transparency in the election process", another official said. |
