Jammu, Oct 11: J.P World School hosted a special event, titled 'Fall Retreat, under the aegis of SPICMACAY (Society for promotion of Indian music & Culture amongst youth, J&K, in the school premises today. The presence of various classical music dignitaries added grace to the event. SPIC MACAY seeks to conserve and promote awareness of our rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry amongst the youth of the country through focus on the classical arts. It is rightly said that music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest. The audience felt mesmerized with the scintillating and melodious notes of Kalpini Komkali, a Hindustani Classical Vocalist and a recipient of fellowship from Ministry of Human Resources in the field of Indian Classical music. The vocal maestro was accompanied by Shambhunath Bhattacharya (Tabla master) and Chetan Nigam (Harmonium Player), who enhanced the grandeur of her performance. Senior wing students of the school got a chance to experience the glory of India's rich heritage and history, which is deeply rooted in its music. The event was also attended by the school principal Jitinder Singh Hundal along with Dr Sapna Sangra, Chairperson J&K Spic Macay Circuit. |
